Michael Phelps and when Ken Kwapis calls…. you answer!
So a few things… (haha… I stole this line from my boss, Mr. Jason Nazar)
1) Great performance by Michael Phelps and rest of the U.S. Swim team in the past couple of days. I can’t imagine what it’s like to carry the expectations of an entire country on your shoulders, and he did it with style. I used to swim in high school and it was grueling. Morning practices, afternoon practices, Saturday practices, Christmas practices… So props to the whole team.
2) Shout-out to Cullen Jones who became the second African-American swimmer to ever win Olympic gold. (And he’s cute)
3) I’m one of those people who tends to let her phone go to VM, usually because I’m doing about 10 different things at once. Anyway, I got a voicemail from Ken Kwapis, a multi-talented director whose directed, “The Office,” “The Bernie Mac Show,” “License to Wed,” and a ton more… as well as “He’s Just Not That Into You.” I acted in the opening scenes of that film, but I found out that our scene got cut from the movie which comes out in 2009. Oh snap! But it was cool of him to call me to tell me that it had nothing to do with my work (I hope not
) Anyway, shout-out to nice directors who call their actors! I’m all about the shout-outs today.
Also, I was watching the “Today Show,” this morning with Matt and Meredith in Beijing, and saw a clip of Michael Phelps being asked which song he listened to before racing. He’s like, “Um… I’m me from Lil Wayne.” Check it out… it’s a pretty good I-need-to-get-pumped-up song.
